I see on the forums alot, people recommend cheness and hanwei and in the off chance someone is actually looking for a euro sword a Valiant Armoury or Darksword, but no one really suggest where. Just would like to let you guys know the SBG has these, so do the site a solid and if you are gonna get one buy it from the SBG store. You can find the link at the bottom, have a look around if you didn;t know it was there.

Indeed! If I were to purchase a sword, I would get one from here as well. I would suggest you all to do the same to support the forum you like to spend time on...

Good deal, Sam. I have purchased a couple swords from the SBG store, always a good deal and smooth transaction. A good place to start the search for a new toy.

WEll... support the forum is all well and good... I'm for that... but how about some enlightened self interest? On the swords Paul carries in the SBG store... 9 times out of 10 if you live in the US the price shipped to your door is the best. So if you want one of the swords he carries there... yeah, do SBG a solid... but do one for yourself too. ;D

Except the person who has to over pay for hanwei products, Wiwingti excluded, even kult of athena sells all of those for less. But yeah for cheness or the others, best do paul a favor and save some cash at the same time.

Except the person who has to over pay for hanwei products, Wiwingti excluded, even kult of athena sells all of those for less. All the XL style katana, the SBG store and KoA have them at the same price... except shipping is free from the SBG store. So on the Hanwei's except two of them SBG store comes out ahead again. Thats why I said 9 times out of 10, your better off with the SBG store.

whoa did he change his stock? I thought he had more than just five sub 300s. Beats me... I didn't pay much attention to his Paul Chen swords as I was not interested in them. I did, however, check a few minutes ago... and there were only 5 offered.

not to mention that when you buy Hanwei from SBG store you also get a free gift of either 12 bottles hanwei oil, an iron tsuba, or the Flashing Steel book. if you don't need the book or the oil you can always get the tsuba and sell it on Ebay for a good $25+ (says it's a $59 value) when you consider this and free shipping even wiwingti's price isn't really better.

Well, wiwingti PK XL is 185+10-15$ shipping cgi.ebay.com/12-Pack-4-oz.-Bottles-of-Paul-Chen-Hanwei-Sword-Oil_W0QQitemZ150320843761QQcmdZViewItemstill less. I would still prefer to not pay for a box of oil and just pay the 185 and use stuff I already have on hand. I mean not to argue but if you want to pay an extra 70+ for shipping and a box of oil have at it. And I like that wiwingti sells them close to what hanwei actually pays for them instead of charging 2-3 times what they're actually worth like most people.

Here is my honest opinion. I definitely support the SBG store, and I have bought cheness from Paul before. It was a very smooth transcation, and he even sent me the UPS tracking number when they normally don't. He goes the extra length for you. I would say if you are ever buying a cheness, darksword, or valiant armory...GO WITH THE SBG STORE! That's what I would do, and that's what you should do as well. Specially for cheness there is no other way but the SBG store. I'm assuming a very high percent of all cheness sales are from sbg.
The only thing I wouldn't buy from the SBG store is Hanwei, simply because too many vendors out there with very competitive prices. I would say wiwingti is the way to go for hanwei...and i'm sorry, but no matter how you put it there is no one in their right mind who would buy hanwei from the sbg store when you can buy it from wiwingti. In fact, I think a few devoted members here (and even moderators) bought from wiwingti over the sbg store. Take one example, the ppk XL sells for 381 at sbg "on sale". You can get that for under 300 at wiwingti..and add shipping, and it's slightly over 300. That's a huge saving. Like I mentioned before, i would rather buy hanwei from wiwingti, and perhaps with the $80 or so I save buying hanwei from wiwingti, I can add some money to that and buy something else from the SBG store

And another reason to buy from SBG is the custom katana! That is unique to the SBG store.

there is no one in their right mind who would buy hanwei from the sbg store when you can buy it from wiwingti. WRONG... Some may call it loyalty,... i call it good business. I love good deals too, but i also understand markets. Plus any bit of extra money i spend at the SBG Store comes back to me (and even YOU) eventually through, new projects, and contests, and sword reviews, and even donations for the UBC event and other groups, not to mention this site in general... The ability to even be HERE and voice MY opinion. All of which we don't pay a nickel for. that is Karma... And (as far as i know) i am in my "right mind"...

I am totally for supporting Paul, and hey I gotta say ....... you Yanks get it REALLY good ...... which is cool, you should all the logistics are in your area to make it happen ....... Paul like us is an aussie who probably has to pay a decent amount for everything local to him, his overheads and what not, also when he wants to get himself a cutter he's gotta face our dollar exchange ........ so he does alot of favors for people ....... sub $300 often isnt down under .......... Yeah Mr Gall has it right, karma has its own rewards ........ if your saving 100 dollars sure but if its a 30 buck difference come on P.S: Not bitter about you state-siders ...... bitter about my local economics and government
