Man the samurai contender looks like he is struggling and has no training at all.

I've seen this before. It mentions good old myth "knights rely on brute strength alone and euro swords are heavy and only good for cutting".

Man the samurai contender looks like he is struggling and has no training at all. Hm. I wouldn't say so. I wonder... the guy looks a little like Nathan Scott. If so, he is certainly well trained. However, that show and many like it are bunk... because they always seem to miss a whole host of facts and be geared to the katana fan boys.

Yeah, I remember faving that vid. I can see how they are different, but basically equal. The katana is a faster cutter, but the broadsword cuts just as well, despite being a bit heavier. Really, I think it all depends on who is wielding the blade being used.

Yeah I remeber seeing that video...and it's utter BS. They have the guy using an arming sword and low and behold, the katana's two handed weapon cuts better two handed because it has more leverage...DUH. And the funniest thing is they go the katana relies of speed and the very next shot in a guy powering through a straw target that would any SCA heavy fighter blush.
