I was just putting it out there and wondering how many people would want to see another company go for a version of a Grosse Messer also more known as Krieg Messer "Big Knife".
I've always had a soft spot for this sword, I knew about it slightly before I saw the Cold Steel "Buy my stuff" proof tests.
I had a slightly comical play out in my mind of the German smith that got inspired to the blade design, sorta went:
(PS: So sorry if any Germans get offended, blame british television for their stereotypes ...... and Hellboy 2)
"Herr Smith, we hav vitnessed zum amazing blades from zee Japaneeze, it is slightly curved wit single edge!"
"Ya ........ like zee falchion"
"Ya ya but it is double handed und light und used with maximum speed und precision"
"Like zee Talhoffer fellow und his kriegschwert"
"Vell YA! ...... you should do both!!!!! Like Kriegschwert but wit single curved edge vhat a cutter ...... But give it an UBER FULL TANG!!!!!"
..... smith thinks .........
"Ya can think of something, hhhmmmm pass me zat butter messer for my bratwurst lunch" ......... and rest is history kids.
I think the weapon could use some interest from another respected company particularly from a euro sword viewpoint and considering its setup as a cutter it could break into the market for better quality at moderate prices.

Cold Steel which made a blade with alot reputation first good but when bits n pommels were falling off and every part dubious from blade to guard to pommel (yeah they did a patch job but thats where it ended) not heaps of love has been shone on it
The other company being Albion (cant get to site) who makes their version MUCH more historically accurate but Albion while good swords are'nt exactly within everyones conventional budget.
Personally I would adore to see VA do it in their Signature Line (dream the dream), or even VA do one in their conventional line with Angus Trim's input. Hanwei with Tinker yeah could be good, Eyal at DSA could give it a go (as long as it isnt a clunker copy of Cold Steels) as long as weight is considered in its martial value.
Inputs anyone, who and how would you like this eccentic german weapon be re-done.
Hhhmmmmm ......... Kriegschwert's been running around with Mr Tallhoffer ...... Kriegschwert I didnt know you "swung" that way ..........
(PS: Sorry to all who's eyes may bleed at the end of reading this post).
