Hi Mates,

Their Fantasy Viking has a fairly stiff blade (both I and Brian own one and they handle nicely, though are a bit heavy), but their Swedish Viking sword is very whippy. Those are the only two I have experience with. A general rule of thumb for Windlass is anything over 30" will probably be whippy. Which model were you looking at?

Windlass five lobbed sword is supposedly very good.

The Windlass Ulfberht as per Shootermike's review seems to be a fine sword for the money.

The Ulfberht is discontinued (figures, eh?), but if you can find one, snatch it up in a jiffy.

There was a Ulfberht in the classifieds tho I think Howler bagged it.
The Leurterit was favorably reviewed here; /index.cgi?board=swordreviews&action=display&thread=6536&page=1

Ok that helps me alot. Well, after years of battling [reenactment] my Viking sword from Gen2 apparently broke as a huge axt fell on the blade. So now I'm looking for "real" Viking sword. Don't worry won't be fighting with this one.

Paul Southren seemed to like the sticklestad (right spelling?) and gave a good score in his review...
I have the 5-lobe and like it quite a lot actually.

Well I'm undecided between the Leuterit and the Sticklestad, as I already have a hand made Viking Sword [this one is very sharp] from a Smith on a Medieval Market. SanMarc: Viking King Sword??? You got a link?! I'll need to see.

SanMarc: Viking King Sword??? You got a link?! I'll need to see.[/quote] You will have to go to windlass's web site, I'm not that good with computers, It comes with a very nice scabbard, (fur coverd) and not a bad price, looks similar to the Norse sword......SanMarc.

OK! The Sticklestad isn't in the selection anymore! Now, I've replaced it by the Oslo Viking Sword. [altough the scabbard isn't mine] But I'm still undecided... Checking for the King sword, or so...

Wow semprini!!! That looks awesome! The Scabbard better than the one of the Leuterit, the sword itself is looking just almost as good. Oslo is cancelled! But there is one big problem!!!: The King sword isn't for sale here in Germany. And all the swords cost twice they do in USA! I think I need somebody who purchases the sword for me and sends it here to Kallmuenz.
