A friend of mine just bought that knife and the vambrace. The vambrace looked terrible. The inner part was ok but the outer "armor" plates are just black vinyl with white stitching to make the design. The concealed blade was kind of interesting. You can flick it open like a tactical baton instead of using the little slide to push it open. It locks open. There is a cable mechanism inside that opens it. It slides open as two separate pieces to extend longer than the actual throw of the lever. Unfortunately only the lower section locks open. When he tried to use it to stab into a pumpkin it just pushed the blade back into the extended portion of the blade housing. It's painted with white and black paint which looks kind of odd. He left it with me to see if I could find a way to modify it so that the whole blade stays locked out but I haven't had a chance to mess with it yet.

Cool, sounds better than most replicas I have seen of it. If I ever end up getting it I will probably modify it quite a bit.

I love the boots. The rest of it doesn't seem to be very useful.

I like the sword and short blade, not sure they are worth the prices though.

Here is the link to all the gear... www.windlassstudios.com/s-15-assassins-creed.aspx... I would be more interested in the clothing than the weapons. At least for period re-enactment or LARP they would be durable. The costume would make a great Storm Shadow replica with a sash across the face. I would imagine that if it is Windlass the knives and sword are functional although the sword could be whippy. Cheaper and more robust could be had for something functional albeit it would not be a replica in appearance. Hard to say until somebody plunks down their cash to find out about said items.

I was considering picking up the sword and doing a review. I've never played the video game... but I liked the look of the sword. However... I'm extra poor just now, so I dunno.

You should give the game a look. Not everyone gets into it, but I really liked it.

I'm trying to get the boots, but they seem to have some problem with the ordering system, and I'm getting no answer from customer service =(.

Well, I placed my order on Strongblade's. So now it's about the waiting game. I'll let you know about the quality of them.

Well, I'm very much dissapointed at Windlass and Strongblade. Seems like they do not ship to South America. At least my dollars are good enough for Paul Chen .

Good news, I've been contacted by Strongblade and they are sending me the boots. I'll write a review as soon as I get them.

The video game rocked; especially if you have any sort of affinity for the Crusades- the environments were supposedly accurate (Acre, Damascus, Jerusalem, Arsuf and the lands in between) but it was the swordplay that hooked me. It was by far the most indepth and exciting sword play I've seen in a game thus far. The usual fare is block, stab, slash, overhand strike maybe (like in Oblivion) altho some games tried to get more technical by adding in spatial awareness and tighter environments (Fable 2) but the swordplay in this game required that you be good on the parry and riposte.
Think I might have to fire that thing up and slay a few Templars for sport; I didn't think I'd like that particular idea but it is GREAT fun to sneak up on a fully armed and armored Templar and slip a blade into the his back...yea, great fun.
