Looks great, but how functional is it? It look very functional but might be a bit too heavy (it listed at 4 pounds ) .You should buy it and post a comprehensive review on the review thread so we know how good (or bad) this dao is

im just curious what gives you that idea? it looks full tang obviously because of the ring at the end....but then again that dosent mean it IS full tang..but overall i think it looks like a decent sword but im low on funds

Anybody get one of these? Wondering if it came sharpened or not. I have one of this beast . It come with factory edge which is about as sharp as steak knife .I really have hard time cutting plastic bottle with this sword , it would cut soft plastic target like small breach bottle but not flexible plastic like water bottle. It is very heavy at 4 pounds so it is good for drilling and practice form and it will increase the speed of the lighter da dao . I still try to sharp the edge of this sword so right not it is sharp - test - curse -go back to sharpening stone again. So far I try 400 grit sand paper , 3 stone type , coarse diamond stone .

Hi, can you post pics of what the construction is like? I have previously created a thread about that sword's functionality and haven't been willing to buy it... and will not definitely not be willing to buy it!!!

I will get you some pix of the tank, i still have that , but i dant have the handle or the ito any more. The handle and ito doesn't matter; I want to see the "tang" construction. If the "tang" is indeed welded on, I am extremely disappointed, and very angry, because this sword was sold on many, many sites and advertised as fully functional. I don't see why they can't make it functional either; cheap katanas are abundant, so this shouldn't be a problem, especially since it is so minimal... It is very dangerous to sell it as functional if it's not; I emailed Kult of Athena about whether they have taken off the handle from one, and they won't do it...

www.trueswords.com/hand-forged-warrior-sword-naginata-thick-blade-p-3184.htmlOne solid piece of hand forged carbon steel stretches the entire length of this never before seen sword. The massive naginata style blade is 27 3/4” long and equipped with deep double blood grooves. The solid hardwood handle is finished with black nylon cord wrapping. This primitive sword is constructed for functional action…..No frills or lace, just one big piece of mean steel. 53 1/2” overall. so was this piece of welded on crap...

the Hanwei Dadao handles like lightning for a weight forward blade. There are a few sites who carry it. SOM has it also, but I got mine through my review site reviews.sword.com but as i said a lot of sites carry it. Here is a vid of how good it handles. it weighs a lot less than the one being discussed.
