Hello. This supposedly came from the Gettysburg battlefield in 1913 but it doesn't look Union or Confederate to me. Any ideas as to what type of sword this is? Measures 34" overall length. Thank you.

The 1821 pattern was used for a lot of countries back when France was the Land Power to emulate. The USA very much used this type of sword and there were far less hard and fast regulations here, especially given the free for all nature of the Civil War. As an Aside, the Swiss also used it under the 1842-1852 designation. If there's anything on the spine of the blade, either cursive script or even an S-shaped flourish towards the hilt, that would help trace its lineage a lot more too.
