I'm digging that tsuka wrap! Also good timing, I just recently bought a Plus Elite katana myself and was thinking of doing a review on it myself lol

How does your tsuka core look? I'm still putting it through its paces, but will try and get around to it at some point soon. The tsuka core came cracked, though seemingly that was because the hollow for the nakago was carved slightly off-center and too close to the mune-side, so the wood was a bit thin. That was disappointing, but I'll probably glue it at some point.

Here is how my Practical Plus Elite came, anecdotally. I hope you can see how thin the tsuka core is along the nakago's mune.

Yikes, surprised that you/Cottontail were able to save that tsuka core! The only one I've ever gotten that was that gnarly before was an old SBG custom that unfortunately turned out to be a total lemon. Thanks for the photos.

You would be surprised what JB Weld and epoxy can fix.
I have been using it for cutting mats. Holding up very well.
At the time of the purchase Hanwei was out of stock, though they said when they get more in they would exchange it. By them time they did get more in stock Cottail customs had already repaired it. And who is to say I would of received anything better, they won't remove a tsuka and look.
