Hi all, I recently made a discovery during some work in an old farmhouse in Piedmont, it is this Briquet which, in my opinion, from the shape of the handle should date back to the Napoleonic period, with a blade modified over time I guess. The blade measures 40.5 cm in length and is 3.5 cm wide. What do you think? Can you help me identify the marking? The grip seems to be made of bronze and not of brass as seen on the more recent Briquets supplied for example to the Italian Carabinieri.

The blade on my Napoleonic briquet is 58cm (in a straight line from guard to tip, not following the curve). The pictures make it look to me that yours has a broken blade that was slightly re-ground to create a new point.

Thank you so much for your answer. I also assume that the blade has been shortened and reshaped due to a previous tip break.
In any case, even the tip of the blade is completely patina like the rest, even if not visible in the photo.
Do you think it could be an antique ''civilian'' modification or made by a soldier at the time?
Here where I live and where I found this sword at the time it was all part of the French empire, no longer Italy. It is highly probable that the sword has remained here since then, given that the family it comes from always remembers having it since the times of the great-great-grandparents and beyond.

could have been broken and abandoned, and the finder many years ago modified the tip
