Here is a recent thread that might help. I own one of Gus Trim's older swords that I had purchased from Lee and am very happy with it.

It's an older model by Angus Trim (He often goes by Gus). Depending on how old it is, you may have to sharpen it yourself, but Gus makes top quality performance blades and has always had an excellent heat treat. If it strikes your fancy, I don't know of any inherent problems in the sword that should keep you from getting it. ShooterMike here on the forum owns quite a number of Gus's swords, if you'd like to drop him a PM. Edit: Alvin, I should learn to type faster, eh?

Edit: Alvin, I should learn to type faster, eh? Hey Kid - Yes, if my 2 finger-method of typing is faster than your style - practice, practice, practice.

hey, so how much are his modern models selling for anyway? I checked his site and they don't seem to have any general prices on them. So, anyone got any info on this?
Thanks guys, good info so far, and thanks for the link!

I'd check Christian Fletcher's site for his Maker's Mark line. I think you'd have to contact Gus directly to price other swords (I've been tempted by the 1315 on several occasions). Brian over at DBK has a beautiful type XII with flared shoulders for sale for around 450 I believe. Great price on a beautiful sword.

thanks, you're right, I saw what they usually run. but in that case, I am seriously considering one of the ones I showed as a good buy. If they have all the gus trim blade quality and are lower priced, I may just do a little handle work and be quite satisfied.
