I'm guessing this is probably a very niche question, but does anyone have a perspective on how the APOC line compare to the 'real deal'?
I think I might be heading down the rabbit hole again and they definitely intrigue me, because we all know Gus designs some truly stellar blades.
I ask because I have an 'original' original ATrim Tac Kat (micarta grip, before he switched to paracord) which is just... *chef's kiss* and if the APOCs are anything like it...
Visually the differences seem mostly cosmetic compared to his original designs, but pictures =/= performance.
[Bit of a side question, but what's the secondary market for ATrims like? Along with the Tac Kat I have one of his XIII triple fullers - which again, is a joy to handle - and I am considering putting both on the market, because the Reserve Bank is putting the pressure on my mortgage and some hard decisions might need to be made. I am, however, acutely aware that if I let them go then there's a good chance I'll never hold a real ATrim in my hands ever again.]

“Actual” ATrims are way better. Also, don’t sell yours. jmtc

I can't compare them to the originals but my three APOCs have distal taper, which you don't see often on tactical swords. The longsword has a good balance and a lenticular cross section too. I believe that this is due to the Atrim design. The tac kat has a very light blade and a relative heavy hilt, a bit too heavy for my taste. They're not expensive, keep your original and buy an APOC too.

Is it still possible to find or order these original ATrim blades new? Or are those no longer being produced?

In my experience, the aftermarket on original ATrims is pretty good: they usually go in "albion time." My 2c on this is that if you have a triple fuller Atrim type XIII, I wouldn't sell it unless absolutely necessary.
I hope your situation has gotten better since the original posting. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for that XIII triple fuller if it ever goes on the market.
