The followup to the original Arrows vs Armor video is here! This time we get to see arrows vs helmet and arm armor too.

It was excellent, I did not expect the damage they accomplished on these videos. Yet I guess I should have, considering the historical accounts, I should have seen even more.
But still, damn, English longbows are scary.

But still, damn, English longbows are scary. I was actually thinking they'd get full penetration with the arrows once they mentioned they were using iron plate, haha. It seems like plate armor of the period was engineered right to the point where it could just defend against arrows enough to prevent death or serious injury, as long as the arrow didn't get into mail.

Too bad they didn't have modern medical practices, then the Arrows to the mail could be livable, potentially. With infection and all, they had to really hope their plate was hit instead of the mail. Those bows are like rifles they hit so hard

Those bows are like rifles they hit so hard Yeah, for sure people survived some nasty injuries (Henry V of England got shot through the face with an arrow and healed fine) but for everyone who lived there were probably a lot that infection killed. But yeah, the power and speed of the arrows is crazy. They sound like bullets ricocheting off the armor or buzzing past.

Really cool stuff. Hearing the 'thwack' from the arrows impacting and cracking was oddly satisfying to hear. I can't help but wonder how it would be, mentally, to hear hundreds of those "thwacks" and feel dozens against you continuously. Must have been nerve racking.

Agreed, especially knowing that all it took was one lucky shot to your mail and you were done.
