hey everybody, I'm trying to pick out my first sword and i have a couple of ideas, the gen2 Irish hand and a half or the gen2 ranger sword, i have read the reviews but i was wondering if anybody had anything else to say about how they handled or if they had any major flaws thanks for the help!

Well the ranger is a fantasy sword...and quite a bit too heavy for a proper sword outa be. Doesn't mean you can't swing it around and cut stuff...but if you want a sword that feels like a real sword should, then get the irish. If you don't care, get whatever looks better in your eyes .

heavy swords dont bother me too much... iv made a few from leaf springs before and found i accually prefer a heaver sword, largest was about 4 or 5 lbs i think...

Well like I said, is having a sword that acts like a sword SHOULD be acting important to you? Not can you swing it around. Most guys can swing around a 5 lb stick for a few minutes before we get tired. But that's not gonna be like swinging a properly weighted and balanced sword. So you need to decide what you want.
