Any requests sent to them seem to get reply's that they are looking for distributors and not selling directly atm. I made a couple inquiries about a couple of swords I'd heard about and each time, the response was "do you need in bulk?".

I made a couple inquiries about a couple of swords I'd heard about and each time, the response was "do you need in bulk?". I just heard from a couple people involved in this project. The smith himself as well as one of our members that will be reviewing them. One of each are on their way to him right now to review, he will have them any day now! And the rest just got to Germany and will be at Battle Merchants any day now! There will be at least one other one that they didn't make soon that will be next. But most of them should be in stock there soon.

Probably should have waited to be able to get that type H instead of buying a Deepeeka Gunther Type H. They appear to be doing a very nice job.

Just put my review of it up. It is ok, but found the fit an finish to be less well done than the Hersir that I returned so that was a disappointment. The OTC type H looks much better done and is much more appealing to me than the Hanwei or Windlass Viking era swords.

Did you get any response about the catastrophic failure with one of these swords when it fell on your floor from being leaned against something? Those pictures of the tang just breaking off the rest of the sword is crazy.

Those pictures of the tang just breaking off the rest of the sword is crazy. They said they never had this kind of issue before. They are supposed to send me a replacement sometimes with more samples. Not the replacement alone because its too expensive. So... they may not fix this afterall. Fingers crossed

CATASTROPHIC FAILURE (as seen on SBG Facebook group) BR-108 15th Century German Longsword
As you know, over the past few months I have received swords from Erik Steelcrafts for review. I still thankfull to them to have sent these samples. Many have criticized my integrity in the process. That the reviews were all the same. If you had read my reviews carefully, you could have seen that none were perfect and that I exposed the faults that I saw. In all fairness to the time I've put into these swords and to lend credibility to what I say or will say in any future reviews I may do of any weapon from around the world, here's what is happened yesterday when I was about to review the 15th Century German Longsword from Erik Steelcrafts. The sword was just leaning against a pole, when I turned around it fell to the ground on the hard but carpeted floor, and the handle was separared from the blade (broken tang)
Im glad I did not hurt myself while testing it. I hope to uphold my credibility and honesty as a reviewer. Im very far as good like Kyle Smith, Matt Easton or Mathew Jensen's of this world, but like them I believe in honesty.
Will Erik Steelcrafts send me a replacement? It is to be hoped because I believe that any good manufacturer would do it on the spot. Im not saying all their swords are the same but be aware this failure can happen

Well that looks really bad. The left picture with the close up of the base, the steel there looks impure. The fitting around the steel blade is even worse looking, to my eyes. To my untrained eyes, i would say, leave the fingers from that manufactorer, looks like the old video with the welded on rat tail tangs. Guess even they are more durable than this one here.
Sorry, but after reading and seeing your reviews here, i am quite sure i will never buy anything from Erik Steelcrafts.
For a few $ or € more you will get Windlass swords, which have proven themselves here on this site and on youtube as well.

finally, mr. Ansari no longer wants my help to improve its reputation and make its products known. He cut ties by calling me F*cking Moron because I told him his 4 truths in the face, and I exposed his catastrophic failure. He continues his bad business practices and I no longer want to be associated with him. He is very talented at making swords, but also at irritating people. I believe there is consensus on this.
I wish him good luck to raise his reputation by himself. Maybe one day he will understand

I wish him good luck to raise his reputation by himself. Maybe one day he will understand Sorry you had to go through this bud, which is always a catch 22 problem when getting swords for review. Sometimes you get someone who want critical feedback and then you get those who just want a fluff review because the sword is free. Seems like Ansari is the later. It just sucks because I read all your reviews and it's seems a few members kinda jumped at you as being a fluff when I don't think you were I think you were just trying to be positive even if there were things iffy about the general line of swords. The longsword breaking was obviously a major red flag for this line and yes we all feel that "the best" go to reviewers but the reality is that isn't always the case. Anyway you did good reviews and I know you went into it more with excitement for the sub $300 market getting new swords than to fluff OTC. Sorry you had deal with all this.
