Was wondering how someone can go about blackening or changing out a pommel or cross guard on Albion swords? I have a couple Albions with a Satin finish that I want to have dyed for the pommel and crossguard but no idea what goes into that or how difficult it is. I also want to change my Crecy Wheel pommel for a scent stopper. Thanks for any input!

In a generic sense one may use a cold gun blue solution, clean the area well, degrease, polish, ckean and degrease again and apply. Multiple coats can give a dull shading to some deep dark hues. Post pics. Projects are fun.

Gonna do it for my Senlac and Crecy.

Put masking tape over the grip and blade to keep the bluing solution from staining those areas.

Awesome thanks for the thread link! Great job on the bluing! Curious did you use the wax to help seal the gaps? What is the risk if it accidentally gets in those gaps? Would it cause some kind of rusting? Would have to be extra careful of that.
