I see a lot of Marbles machetes advertised online as 1075 steel and then on other websites the exact same model is advertised as being made of stainless steel?
I really wanted to get the Marbles cutlass machete (Mainly because the equivalent cold steel model seems to be out of stock everywhere) but if it is stainless steel I do not want to bother.
Does anybody know which type of steel is correct?

My marbles machete rusts easily enough if I don’t clean it.

All my Marbles machetes are carbon steel.

In my experience, axes and bushcraft (I’m new to swords), pre 2002 marbles was a reliable brand. High carbon steel allows the tool to withstand abuse (they usually hold an edge longer), but makes them more prone to rust compared to stainless (low carbon).

Marbles (made in El Salvador) are fantastic. You get a great convex edge & nylon sheath with sharpening stone included. I like the Bolo and Latin designs.
