The single handed estoc is used in bullfighting. Maybe an estoc will be good?
A narrow, metal hunting spear to throw from a tree, and an estoc (single handed bullfighting sword or two handed variant) for a back up weapon. Something that will allow you to get to the heart. High risk high reward type deal

High risk high reward type deal I'd go spear as well (king of the battlefield) but the original post said only sword, knives and not spear, axes. Some kind of long bladed sword, not too heavy, that can be wielded one or two handed, and a shield IF you can afford the luxury of carry (what is the nature of travel mobility, like pack animal, cart, etc...).

Oops, well, just gonna stick with an estoc then. Truth be told, a sword isn't a weapon I'd even choose to hunt a monster. I'd take one as a back up, but hunting a monster with a sword sounds rough. I don't think I would even be successful hunting a rabbit with a sword, much less a monster Most people think, well it's just meat. Swords are made to cut meat. But if it's really rigid, flexed muscle, that's moving around 20-30kmh, good luck on that one. But if I was a prisoner gladiator thrown in with a monster and all I could choose was swords, bull fighting estoc. Seems to work for them. That or a very riding rapier The single handed estoc is used in bullfighting. Maybe an estoc will be good? High risk high reward type deal I actually had an idea for an estoc of sorts. Bullfighting swords are cool too and not very different from the "boar swords" of the late 15th century and later. That's gonna be epic. You don't see enough of them on the market. I love estocs

300lb lobster just sounds disturbing. Imagine it feasting upon the bloated corpses of shipwrecked sailers. This is a job for Ray Harryhausen.

Lotta butter needed in a big bucket when you dip THAT lobster tail. Slaughter a whole cow and treat your men to Serf & Turf.

I actually own a CS Sword Breaker...cuz ya never know when a giant lobster may appear. Or at least that's what I told myself in justifying the purchase. I will say the thing is unbreakable, basically a thin baseball bat with four hollowed edges and a spike for two hand thrusts. I wish they made the handle longer but it's easy to grip along the blade length because no sharp edges.

Estoc or a XVII longsword, what works for a knight in full plate should work for a lobster too.

Perfect anti-armor tool no doubt.

Perfect anti-armor tool no doubt. Let's not get carried away. If it were a "perfect" anti-armor weapon, we would have seen some version of it developed in many places across the armor wearing world. It's a decent design, for what it is and when it was, but it doesn't "...Solve a Problem Like Maria..." better than many other armor foiling weapons.
