Howdy y’all, I appreciate any advice on this question. I will do my best to provide as much info as possible. I recently received a sword from SON, and the katana is bent towards the upper end of the blade. As much as I would like a replacement, literally everything else about the sword is perfect to me. Leather ito is super tight with no gaps or misaligned diamonds, and the transitions on the tsuka are also better than expected. The saya is also snug and well fit. The blade is 1095 clay tempered. I will provide more photos if necessary. I would like some advice on how to bend it back to as straight as possible. I’ve seen 2 videos on here using a work bench and 3 pieces of wood, as well as a video using 2 pieces of wood to grip and secure the blade while pushing outwards and bending it back to straight. I’ve provided 2 photos that are angled from the spine and 2 from the edge. I appreciate any advice given and please forgive my newbness on here regarding terms or etiquette.

Lancelot Chan has to straighten a bunch of the swords he reviews, so he might have some good techniques to recommend.

Id still reach out to them to see if they can send you a replacement. A blade that is bent once is much more likely to bend again than one that is never bent at all

Dude, return that thing while you can. It looks bent and warped. What's the point of paying extra for customer service and quality control if they send you a bent and warped blade?
