Today.... i became a man. i decided to purchase the Cold Steel Viking Sword. (review seen here www.sword-buyers-guide.com/cold-steel-viking-sword.htm) and it is without a doubt in my mind the most excited i have ever been about buying anything. My father once told me that i was born about 600 years too late, and i fully understand what he meant now If any of you have feed back or stories about this sword i would love to hear it, as i have not had the chance to cut anything with it yet i am eager to see how this baby swings!

Hi, Gnarly, I don't have any experience with that particular sword, I do have a CS cutlass I like a lot. When you get it you might do a review, I'd be interested to see your impressions.

I was a distributor for Cold Steel, and I must say that the Viking Sword is my favorite model. The fuller could be a little wider to make for better authenticity, other than that, I think you will really enjoy it.
Since you are a new sword owner, be careful when doing any cutting, the CS Viking comes razor sharp and ready to lay anything open you put to the cutting edge.

nah, nothing about this one in particular, but i own a CS Greatsword and a Messer. The Messer is a must have if you like the style, light, sharp and a chopper like no other. As for the Greatsword its a big, bulky, poorly balanced, way too heavy monster. But when you manage to hit something... it really does what is was meant to do and then some.

I had one, just got rid of it to a Friend, after modifying the hilt and palmel, I shortened the tang and ground the hilt into a more correct for the tenth c. and the same for the palmel, it now looks like a "cocked hat" 10th c. changed out the fir handle for oak, and wire wrapped with silver boat wrap, did fine as a hand and a half with two hands, handle was a bit to big for me using only one hand. after cutting down the handle to fit, no problem as a single handed sword.....I called it my Eco friendly weed whacker!
.......SanMarc.
