Project sword 2 finished. A T10 blade with cosmetic polishing, completely upgraded and with tsuka redone. Very high quality fittings. Full wrap samegawa with oyatsubo. This project has been made for collection only (no cutting, thus the choice of a relatively cheap blade with cosmetic polishing) and my wife picked the colour scheme and the fittings. We agreed to have very good fittings for appreciation and aesthetics. So, it's sort of a "the katana to expose that my wife likes". I'm quite happy with the result, I think it's a gorgeous piece now. Blade and saya: Jkoo. Tsuba: original antique, Edo period, mumei, shakudo. F/K: original antique, Edo period, signed Soten, shakudo. Menuki: Sofecoke. Habaki: Seido. Ito and sageo: Atelier Miyabi JPN. Samegawa: Erving Exotic Leather. Tsuka and tsukamaki: a friend.

Like j said beautiful. And blue is my favorite color. Guess I’m going to have to get something in blue. Haha.

I like this blue in particular, called "asagi". Quality is also very high. I tend to use colours matching a theme in general (my "peacock" katana has blue, green and brown - my "pine tree" has black, brown and green) but in this case there's no theme, I just thought asagi blue went well with wood saya and shakudo fittings.
