I take back what I said: when I received the sword I purchased, say, 4 months ago, the blade was chipped. Now this wouldn't be an issue if I hadn't paid full price for it, he marketed the blade as being in "pristine" condition, and none of the photos showed the chip. All I did with said sword was cut a yoga mat(unsuccessfully, as it seems the blade was dull) with it, which he says caused the chip. However I wasn't buying it and asked for atleast a little bit of my money back, as I wouldn't have bought it at that price if I knew it had temper issues/was chipped(if the yoga mat did chip the blade than that's a fault in the blade). He responds that he'll see what he can do in two weeks. Well 4 months has passed, he still hasn't responded, as well as the fact that he seems to have blocked me from sending him direct messages.
Was this shipping damages? No, he packed it like fort Knox. Besides the fact that it was in a padded sword bag, it was also in one of those hanwei wooden boxes.
Take from this info what you will, but atleast for me, I wouldn't recommend purchasing from this seller, not because of the chip in the blade, but because of how he decided to solve my inquiries through blocking instead of just being straightforward and saying "sorry I don't think I can give you any money back"
Btw just figured this out recently as I was going to pm him about the kaneie wave, and it came up as an error. Just with him though, everyone else I can pm fine

Do you have any evidence that the blade arrived at you already chipped?

Do you have any evidence that the blade arrived at you already chipped? I do not have evidence that the blade was chipped before i received it, mainly because the pictures he took of the sword do not focus on each inch of the edge. If they did i wouldnt have paid what I did for it in the first place(in the high chance that the blade wasnt chipped in transit). I do have pics i took after swinging it around to see how it handles. main reason i changed this feedback post however is because of him blocking me due to my inquiry regarding the blade. It doesnt take much to reply to a comment either saying "i dont think this is worthy of a partial refund" or "ok ill agree to refunding 100 dollars". I honestly dont care that much about the sword itself or the refund(traded it a while back for something else), its more the fact that this seems to be how he thinks its appropriate to treat someone who paid 1200 bucks for a sword. I tend to ask questions frequently when in the process of buying items on here, so maybe he didnt like that and thought I would spam him about it? That has never been addressed as an issue by anyone else, including him if that is the case.

I blocked you for a reason. You claimed that the sword was fine, then you did some cutting with it and noticed a chip. You really want me to full/partial refund you after this ? I hate it when people try to take advantage of me.

I understand the buyer's frustration, however the onus is really on you to check the sword comprehensively when it arrives to you. So you can ascertain flaws and what not. Post using it, it's sus to the seller, you can see that right? I'm not saying you're lying or he is, I don't know about the details in this case. Just that it's harder in this circumstance because you admittedly cut with it.
I'll give you an example, I purchased a sword from a forum member who is very well respected here. It arrived a few weeks later and USPS had buggered up the shipping. The sword had rust on it from water damage. But the forumite in question had sent me pictures of the packing before he sent it, so I knew it was not on his end but the shipping company's. These things really should be protocol in sales because it eliminates any potential confusion.
I hope you both do manage to resolve this, our community is too small for fractures and discontent.
