Alrighty folks, hears a very early draft. Don't worry, the guard is not gonna be that big, just my lack of artistic talent doing its thing lol.
Grip length 9 inches
Guard length 7.5 inches
Blade length 36 inches
Distal tapering 6mm-2mm
The blade will have a Flat center grind similar to the tauber. Instead of being on top of the guard, the medallion fits into the center of the guard.

Forgot to mention I'm still open to suggestions on guard design, one of the other ideas i have on the back burner is something like the Caithness with triangular quilons and a thin hollow coin on top akin to the witcher swords. Also have a habaki-esque design I'm still kinda hashing out the details on

Dimensions seem a little small for the Biggoron Sword. It's a definite great sword by scale in the game. Hilt should be more straight too. I'd say by general game specs the swords should be, Blade: 45"-50" Blade width: 2" swelling to 2 1/2" at leaf Handle: 10"-12" Cross width: 12" Pommel length: 2" Pommel Circumfrence: 5" Cross section: Diamond Blade profile: leaf Blade Regarding the guard shape the game sword has the typical bulky anime/game style guard, which is very triangular in the quillions.  I guess if you wanted to you could do a slimmer version directly for exactness but if you wanted a reference that is more grounded you could take inspiration from the Highlander Conor McCloud claymore from the first film as it has a similar design,  |

The original OOT version is the smallest, akin to a mid size longsword. The SoulCal/BoTW are closer to greatsword length My main goal with this isnt neccesarily to be a 1:1 game prop, there are people who can do that for cheap, but I want this to feel like a real sword. I want this to feel as balanced and cut as cleanly as my VAs and SA custom. I do like your idea for the guard, ill keep that mind when i message the smith. |

Welded on thin copper plates/sheets wouldn't add a whole Lotta weight either. Just gonna add that again, could even shrink it down to scale to match a thinner guard, keeping the proportion relatively similar
Also a leaf blade would enable you to keep it excellent in both the cut and thrust, and you can even shape it similarly to the biggorons swords waisted blade
I've given this one quite a bit of thought, on how I would want it done. But admittedly, I haven't had that many swords made exactly to my custom specs, so maybe one day I'll find out why no one does it the way I'm imagining it haha

I can prolly try whip up another if I am not very clear  I also figured a corded suede wrap would look much nicer (and just as tribal) than that bandage wrap every anime sword has lol |

I still kinda prefer the waisted look, mostly because im already getting the mastersword done with a beafy leaf blade lol and i like all my peices to be unique. I kinda like the idea for the cord wrap. I was just gonna have it done in plain brown leather and wrap half of it with hocky tape lol. |

Another draft. Forgive the bat wing design, lack of art ability at it again. The guard will essentially be like the mastersword but without the extended quillons or "feathers". The centerpiece, pommel and spacer will be copper to give it that earthy vibe. I'm still hashing out thesspecs. Debating between a 2.5 inch base or 3 base width. was also thinking of adding a blade collar but I'm not sure how to explain that to purna. |
