Some more updates. I had him remove that bronze piece below the pommel, he had to carve new grip. Now i might have him put it back on because it just looks.....off lol. The previous grip had a sleeker look, not sure how that happened

Final update. Sword came out beautifully The scabbard is gold plated, cost a little extra but i think it was worth it, apparently it was purna first time doing something like that, hes pretty satisfied with the result lol. Hopefull this is the first of many commisions to come, though due to unforseen circumstances i need to take a break for awhile. I can say that I still want really want to make a smaller armingsword version based on the ALttP iteration of the mastersword, with brass hardware and possibly an octagonal blade.

I don’t know anything about the master sword other than it came from a video game but that is beautiful even just from an artistic way. Really nice detail.

Sword Friend Nick Gonzalez sent his latest design realized by Purna Darnal to me as an incredibly generous offer for review. It's his interpretation of the Master Sword from the video game franchise Zelda. During the design phase, Nick reached out to the community and number of sword friends offered advices. The end result is this stunning bastard sword featuring a 31" blade of diamond cross section (a short hexagonal cross section at the base of the blade) with a good amount of apple seeding at the edge, very pronounced distal taper (7mm throughout the narrowing false ricasso at the base, 5mm at midpoint, and 3.3mm at 2" from the tip). A very rigid blade, with only a slight hint of flex near the tip, it has a profile that tapers upward to form a leaf shape with a "clip point" like a gladius. The broadest point is exactly at the point of percussion (56mm wide) and tapers to an acute point at the tip. This results in a good cut-and-thrust sword that are very proficient at cutting with the deep bevel at the point of percussion, yet have a rigid and acute tip to penetrate maille, textile armor, or the thick hide of fantasy beasts. It has a durable profile and hefty presence at 1600g (3.5 lbs) as a bastard sword. The hilt furniture is heat-blued with a chrome finish. The pommel is my favorite type--the octagonal scentstopper pommel and the guard is inspired by the video game sword design. A Triforce symbol is engraved onto each side of the false ricasso, which has a stout edge bevel but are actually sharpened. Sword friend Nick would like to dedicate this sword to the memory of his late brother Eric Gonzalez. I am honored to have the opportunity to review this awe-inspiring sword! Stay tuned for the full video review on YouTube.

Thanks. I've been practicing some basic hema forms and despite weight the balance is honestly pretty good. I actually wish I made the handle longer as when two handing my hand wants to go past the pommel and swing like a katana lol.
My only real gripe with the blade is that I intended it to be a leaf blade design and it sort came out as leaf hybrid with a waisted gladius type point. But it's gives it allot of presence so I can't complain lol.
I've already decided to make another one with a slimmer blade profile.
