G'day folks. I haven't been around much lately, preferring to post my stuff to my social pages. It's mostly been work in progress. I'm only completing a couple of swords per year lately. Mainly because I'm choosing exceedingly challenging projects. Complex hilts are always a massive job, but I've been making them quite sculptural as well. The last sword I completed was Artemis in August 2021, a complex hilted bastard sword. Since then I've been working on a twin set of two more complex hilted bastard swords. Light and Dark twin swords. I've just completed the guard for the dark, and I thought I'd share it as I'm very pleased with what I was able to achieve with it. It's amazing how much canvas a complex guard affords for art, compared to a cruciform sword. It's similar to the difference between how much leather art - both design and clarity of detail - a scabbard kit can hold compared to just the handle of a sword. So check it out, I hope you enjoy it. All of this is stock removed from bar and plate stock. Parts are TIG welded together. Lots of filing and dremel work. I've really enjoyed exploring sculpture directly from steel stock. However the tiny splinters of steel it creates are most horrific. :-D

That is breathtaking! Absolutely stunning! The English language lacks sufficient superlatives to sufficiently laud your work.

To say that is breathtakingly exquisite would be an understatement.

that is truly beautiful work. Can't wait to see the finished sword once the blade and hilt are installed.

Sharp blades are good to have, if Shire-folk go walking, east, south, far away into dark and danger.
