This is kinda surprising. I went onto LK Chen's website to see if they had made any new models in the last little while and I saw that they just came out with their first European sword, one from the arsenal of Alexandria. I think that's pretty awesome but I do wonder if this is a sort of one-off or if they are going to be making more western swords in the future. June 29 EDIT: LK Chen's website now calls it the Ribaldo.

They are working with Matt Easton on this. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up doing more Euro models.

Also, the stats on that sword look outstanding.

Swap out the fittings for an Irish set and it's an entirely different sword. They executed the blade so well.

I might get a chance to handle it soon, can’t wait to see how well LK Chen implements a Milanese early sidesword. Hope they collaborate more with Matt Easton in the future.

I'm super interested in seeing what LK Chen can do with Medieval swords. I've eyeballed their Chinese swords many a times, and still plan on getting a jian at some point, but a longsword from them would probably really get my juices going!

Sharp blades are good to have, if Shire-folk go walking, east, south, far away into dark and danger.

Yeah...the Gale Wind has been on my to get list ever since I started collecting. Figure if I get one jian, that's the one. If YOU get it, you can review it, then sell it to me at a discount! ;-)

For me it would probably be the Roaring Dragon or Flying Phoenix.

I've been eyeing the Wo Yao Dao, just not sure I want to commit to getting into Chinese swords as it's not a big interest for me, but LK Chen really seems to deliver in the price to performance category. A lot of really positive reviews for their products.
If they keep putting out Euro models I may have to pick one up.

The Wo Yao Dao and White Serpent are the two I've been hoping to add at some point. Guess I'll have to throw this one into the pile as well. I never had much interest in Chinese swords myself before getting some LK Chen's and all 5 have been wonderful. Their products have really helped me appreciate the diversity of Chinese swords.

So I ended up ordering the Sforza and asked if this was a one time thing or if there would be more. I was told that there will be new western models coming as well as Chinese models but not when or what they will be

I greatly admire LK Chen as a brand, but I wonder if they'll be a victim of their own excellence. I want a lot of their swords, but I'm afraid to buy any because something newer comes out so often, as well as improvements/updates.

So I ended up ordering the Sforza and asked if this was a one time thing or if there would be more. I was told that there will be new western models coming as well as Chinese models but not when or what they will be HAHA! I finally figured out how to multi-quote! Very exciting to hear. Looking forward to hearing more about it. Given LK's focus on rarer specimens I hope the same will be true of their Western line. Thanks for pulling the trigger! Please do update us when you get it in hand! I greatly admire LK Chen as a brand, but I wonder if they'll be a victim of their own excellence. I want a lot of their swords, but I'm afraid to buy any because something newer comes out so often, as well as improvements/updates. I get that. I have the Silver Swallow miao dao and I love it but sometime later they made their chang dao which is more like what i was looking for. Can't say I wasn't a little annoyed but what can you do? Which of their products were you interested in if you don't mind my asking.

The Silver Swallow is actually near the top of my list! Niu Wei Dao is high up, but something tells me they'll eventually come out with a 2-in-1 Dao you see quite often, so I'm holding out for that. I loved the Heavenly Horse Dao's update. The curve was just massively improved, imo. I've wanted something like this for decades since seeing something similar in a Korean museum. The White Serpent is something I'm interested in, and I imagine that one won't see significant updates. The Flying Pheonix is on my list just because of how much the owner loves it. The Sforza is of a type that I've been interested in for a while after staring at one at the MET. The grip right now is hideous, though. Matt Easton has referenced it, so I imagine it'll update soon enough, though at the price, it's worth a project. I don't currently own any LK Chen, but his sparring shield is probably the first thing I'll get.

Hope you guys get to handle this soon LK Chen seems to make nice items. I think Deepeeka has a replica of this exact same sword too, this LK Chen version is of course much nicer.

They fixed the grip! I’ll still probably want to customize it, but can’t complain about it.

Am I imagining things, or is that proximal taper in the tang? I’m really starting to like this one!
