Hi, all, I am looking to compliment my type 95 with an original leather sword knot and am looking for information on how to tell the difference from a real to replica. Any help would be appreciated.

Paul If a replica sword knot is made to match the original specification, I have no clue how to tell them apart. OTOH, be aware of what the Japanese originals look like, ohmura-study.net/957.html because there are several very similar knots on the market, such as the US M1902: www.swordforum.com/vb4/showthread.php?111689-Sword-knot-question-for-Japanese-M1899-NCO-Infantry-Sword which can be easily discriminated from the Japanese leather knot, if you know the differences.
