Hhmmm, a 19th century Stainless Steel Japanese sword, that alone is a rarity and dictates a premium price. That’s an extreme example of using caution when buying on ebay. It's good for a laugh at any rate.

Yeah, there’s a guy that has been trying to sell a Hanwei elite for $24,000. Been there for over a year. Says it for a charity. Messaged him saying it’s a $1000 sword. No response. Another one was a cheap tai chi sword. Said they didn’t have any info on it and put a price of $3500 on it. Told them what it was and it was worth somewhere around $100 or less. They said they were going to see if it sold. Then changed the description to ‘been in the family for 80 years’. Eventually lowered the price to about $300 the after awhile to $130 and it sold or was taken down. I’m just glad I found SBG and this forum when I started collecting. Not that I was going to spend that kind of money but has helped me stay away from a lot of crap.

That “septic tank” thing was funny.
