I always feel the quillon extremity are opportunities for additional ornaments on medieval swords. On some Germanic and Swiss longswords they have guards with floral patterns. This is definitely designed in the right way!

Ugh... the wait is killing me and it's not even mine! The roses on the fitting are looking real good my man! Quick question. I was trying to tell by the pics and vids but I'm still unsure. Is the the blade on yours a little broader than the original or do I need to make an appointment with my optometrist?

Those fittings are absolutely sick. Our man can really work in brass!

Stunning is right, every time you have something new to show it just proves we have nearly the exact same taste in blades.
I wonder how that will feel in the hands and hope the pommel is comfy and doesn't get in the way, though I doubt one would try to grip it. With your love of flowers on stuff have you ever done a blade with a larger rose as the pommel? Would probably be good weight, feel alright in the hand and could show a lot of detail!

This is just plain sick. I am still amazed that a smith with middling knowledge of European swords has produced such an incredible replica of one of the most famous European swords. It's really a testament to his talent and to your ability to communicate with him. I know how much work you put in to provide him with accurate measurements and references.

That is amazing work Nate between you and Purna, Purna should be so proud of this moment, he has come so far in just a year's time.

Personally, I LIKE that you've designed it not to be a one to one copy. I love the design additions.

The finished product looks so neat! The profile turned out to be great. For a while I was worried that there wouldn’t be enough profile tapering. And the intricate designs of those fitting make an already-epic sword (the original) looks that much more regal.

Oh man, that sucks! The fittings should not be a big problem to save, but the wood probably depends on how it is glued on.
