I have started this thread so that members of the SBG community can list organizations and agencies that are helping with the Ukrainian situation that the rest of us can consider contributing to. PLEASE list any other charities that we may consider giving to.
I found this organization on FB. World Central Kitchen has a 5/5 "Exceptional" rating on CharityNavigator.com (see link below) and it is trying to help with the most basic of needs for people who have lost everything...food! (FYI...I always use PayPal to donate to any organization as it give me an additional layer of protection against potential identity theft/fraud.) Why World Central Kitchen: On February 24, Russia launched a large-scale attack on neighboring Ukraine, invading the country on several fronts. As a result, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian families are fleeing their homes in search of safety. Working at a 24-hour pedestrian border crossing in southern Poland, WCK began serving hot, nourishing meals immediately. Now, we've expanded our efforts to serve accommodation centers in Poland as well as in Romania, Moldova, and other locations supporting refugees. WCK is also partnering with restaurants inside of Ukraine to get hot meals to anyone in need. I sent to here - they've made it as easy as possible for anyone to send money: bank.gov.ua/en/news/all/natsionalniy-bank-vidkriv-spetsrahunok-dlya-zboru-koshtiv-na-potrebi-armiyiIt's the armed forces' appeal for money, not a charity. If some don't want to directly support that, then please use the other non-combat charities. A friend has relatives fighting and says that's the best thing ordinary people can do right now for Ukraine... send money and preferably to the armed forces. They still need it even though they are being sent weapons. Every bit helps - it all adds up.

This is not a charity, but it goes to the heart of the issue and can help Ukrainians: divest from any business dealings you may have with Russia. I don't say this to be political or to alienate Russians from the forum. I say this because it is a practical way to help bring about an end to this conflict.

This is being done now on a global basis I understand that, and I really don't mean to cause any distress to the forum or this kind thread. I believe if individuals contributed by divesting, it would help make the cumulative global effort even more powerful. That's all.

Medecins Sans Frontieres might be a good one to donate to.
