Here's a customer's katana that I did a green silk katate maki on, made a delrin mekugi, made a brass mekugi, I removed the wire brush hamon and I polished the blade. The blade is polished to a 1,500 grit polish and then buffed with mother's mag and aluminum polish.

Got 3, one I use for chopping redwood 2x4', mostly 3' long pieces braced on cinderblocks about hip high off the deck. Surprisingly, after 9 pieces cut thru with 1st try, only minor dulling and 2, quarter sized dents/pushouts. The chopper is balanced at 6.5", so it can be sacrificed, and the blade has a slight twist about 6" from the tip. Quite a bit more damage to my Stec sword/machete, but it cuts thru in one pass also. Actually, neither "cuts" thru, as the cut is only about just over halfway, and momentum takes over from there. My 22" Tremontina machete actually cuts deeper, but does not come close to breaking the wood.

I've been out of the sword buying market for a few years now so I didn't know anything about this brand. Not bad for the price.
