A while back, I had found an old thread featuring some single-handed ATrim leaf blades, some hilted by Christian Fletcher. All I could do was drool over them... I figured if one ever came up for sale, I might be able to make it work. Until then, I had a plan for a placeholder. I started with a used Windlass Hoplite I found for $70/shipped off eBay. It had never been used for cutting, and not sure why it was so cheap (but I'm not complaining). I went to work with a Printed Armoury Zurich straight guard from RambleTree, ordered here: rambletree.net/collections/printed-armoury The guard did need to be drilled out for the threaded tang (it's larger in diameter than the tang), and the slot is a bit oversized for the tang, but some steel shims worked perfectly. I also extended the factory grip about 1/8" on each end using spacers made from veg tanned tooling leather. Added a few risers and did my first regrip, relying heavily on Chris Peroni's excellent tutorial... Without more rambling, here is the (almost) finished product. I still have some sanding/polishing of the blade, but overall very happy with the outcome.

Nice project! It has never ceased to mystify me why the leaf shaped blade went out of fashion. I especially like the grip wrap.
