Brian,
I like that Flared Shoulder blade, mind if I ask what your are asking for it?

Brand new these are $450 with a stock grip. The sword blade is mint. The furniture has been custom aged with a campaign grip, aged pommel, and aged guard. The guard has been custom shaped as well.
PM me with an offer. I'm fairly open to listening to some good offers as I haven't set a price on it.

That is a very good looking sword. It would look great with a scabbard matching the grip, with the straps and fittings on it being a darker, oxblood color. That would be exceptionally sharp. It'd fetch a fair penny, too.

I just happen to be in the business of scabbard making too. I could make it a package deal

I wouldn't have mentioned it otherwise, Brian! Haha I'd be willing to pay a decent (I consider it fair, but I honestly could be wrong) amount of money for the sword/scabbard combo, but I'd need a few weeks at least, just bought a sword for my brother.

I'd need a few weeks before I could start a scabbard anyway, as I'm booked right now. I would need a deposit before beginning though, as normally I have a sword to hold for ransom. But in this case, well, you understand.

Naturally. Do you do a percentage or a flat rate?

Naturally. Do you do a percentage or a flat rate? Mininum non-refundable $200 deposit ($100 for the sword, $100 for the scabbard). That would be $200 towards the final purchase, in case there was any confusion.

Friday I should get to swing an Atrim Custom Tuned Practical.
I am starting to gather funds for the Albion I want. I estimate four months or less and I'll be ready to buy.
after that I have to get a long sword. I never said I wanted to buy only one MEDIEVAL sword, I said I wanted one ARMING sword but you make a good point about having a heavy practice and a fine use sword.
My collection goal is to have at least one sword of each type that is important to me with which I am completely satisfied and suits my needs.
I'm hoping the Kokoro Ichi will be that katana and I have the Kaze as my heavy use beater that is almost everything I want
Arming swords look like I'll end up with Atrim tuned prac for heavy use and Albion Norman for the jewel
Longsword. . . hmmm maybe an Atrim practical and there's this longsword I've seen by Dr. Hrsoulas at Salamander I like a lot maybe that'll be my longsword jewel.
I've also been tempted by Garrett Chan's Jians (is that peotry?) but jians aren't a top priority for me. I almost bought one for the wife but then her interest lapsed. too bad would have loved teaching her how to use it

The second 'longer' XIIA with accented fullers is used. It is a very nice bottle cutter and handles well in one or two hands. It has a Christian Fletcher custom grip on it.

I gave Brian that XIIA as a desposit towards a future scabbard. Looks like you did an excellent job resharpenning it and cleanning it! I had some heat treat issues with it but Angus Trim repaired it and well Brian now has it for future projects etc. Looks good though! Honestly after owning an Atrim XIIa and an Albion XIIa squire sword, I perfer the Squire sword. Sure the bevel will be a secondary bevel but it is an insanely sturdy manly beast of a weapon that handels very well. Don't discount the Squire swords! They are well worth the money and still when sharpened, can make great cutters! Just wanted to let people know!

Well, one can also get a squire line unsharpened and just sharpen it by hand with the proper edge. Or have either Brian or Dan do it. And maybe get a better grip while your at it hehe. It does save some money that way over a next gen...but it will be a bit more then an atrim.

Got my Atrim custom tuned practical arming sword. I love it, thank you to all who helped me to decide. it really is the functional sword I was looking for. now, must resist buying so many tatami mats I won't be able to get an albion in a few months. I have vids posted of me cutting tatami and bottles with it in the videos board. link: /index.cgi?action=display&board=cutting&thread=6721
