Oh! if I had a Feder.
I'd post a pick of Darth Vader with it on a shelf....
You know...Vader on a Feder...
Somebody step up!

Seasons Greetings Everyone! What single blade in my collection? Ive agonized over this because my second choice is the 1882 french saber with its lenticular blade, quick and nimble, flexible in the cut but stout enough to thrust. It was my introduction to European Cut n Stabbies buuuuuuut... I was gifted an 1897 Brittish Infantry Officers sword in rusty condition this year and its given me a chance to connect on another level with my eldest daughter. Its amazing what some green scrubbies, sandpaper and oil can do for the bond of father and daughter. Anyway...the sword itself is a weighty ghost but handles very well. Once you get moving its suprisingly nimble tipped. Shes obviously a thruster but properly field dressed&stoned i have no doubt it could slice or cleave. Shes not as fast as the 1882 French but i think it would outlast it in battle. I find myself contemplating how much more comfortable i would be taking a blow on this blade vs the other swords i own.

1 I love my Henry V Sword by Legacy Arms. The quality isn't that great, but I love the lines. I changed the profile of the grip and re-wrapped it in black leather cord. I added cabochons to the pommel and made the sword belt from black horse leather. My favorite sword.

(I ask to be excluded from the drawing for prizes too) The "Dragon Sword" by Purnal Darnal (because "Elven Fantasy Dragon Highlanderish War Saber" is a little bit long ) This one has a special meaning to me as I commissioned it during Purna's birthday. I wanted to give him a project where he could freely express himself or showcase his talents as I have always lamented the fact that he had to give up selling his carvings because he couldn't get a good enough price for them. So this project is actually his, with me vaguely pointing at pictures. (A bit handle heavy maybe but the balance is actually phenomenal and scultped brass is super comfy...)

As fantastic as that piece is, I think my favorite is still the Arwen sword.

Do not want to take part in the contest. One of my favorites. A custom from John Lundemo before Longship. If it looks familiar, Longship used it as one of the Steerboard options.

Before they had the issues with KOA and are now being made by windlass i picked up my first(of now 4!) sword the Balaur arms 14thC longsword. Might not be a high end one but the thing just felt perfect in the hands right away and soars through meat/fruit and water bottles when cutting.

This is not a submission for the competition, but I hope it's alright to contribute in the spirit of the season. We have some amazing submissions so far. Keep them coming, everyone, and good luck! Attachments:

I also wish to not be considered for a prize. Santa has already been very good to me this year. Below is a custom chakram made by Purna Darnal. I received this about ten weeks ago. He had two snakes engraved into the blade and set some sort of red enamel into the recessed parts. I haven't asked what it is, but who cares? It looks freaking awesome. I try not to hold this thing since it has his usual level of extreme sharpness. Fun fact: it's exactly the same proportions of Xena's famous chakram!

It's all in the martial arts: I watched the various carrying and throwing methods. But for me as a novice to try throwing that thing would be asking for trouble, especially with the super sharp edge that I can only imagine Purna put on it.

Some messer techniques need gripping the single edge broad and sharp blade. I thought it would be impossible but it worked. And I'm an old frisbee player, so I can imagine to use that thing. Force applied from the inner side. (or a mail glove)

Not overly happy with my Dynasty Forge wakizashi, I was getting the itch for something else so I ordered a Ryujin from our very own SBG Store. I wasn't expecting it to come so soon but it arrived in time to be my Christmas wak. I'm really liking it. Shorter than most production waks (which I like), it handles great, looks great and came very sharp. Weight: 702g / 24.5 oz Length: 25.75" / 65 cm Blade Length: 18" / 46 cm Spine: 7 mm --> 5 mm
