To my unfathomable disdain, I hath missed thy chance to enter the previous sword design competition. As such:
Will there be another?
If I reveal the design I have "held" for a potential competiton, will that sword be diqualified due to me posting it here, now?
Is it possible, or better yet, probable, that if I show my design to a existing sword maufacturer they might produce it if they like it enough?
Please, I'm trying to be modest, but I hath birthed from my imagination a sword that blows my mind. A continued healthy life for myself requires this blade be made.
Well, that's really dramatic, but you get my point. Would someone make my sword provided it's acctually decent? Thanks.

What style of sword is it? Get in touch with SBG member "Brendan of the Alders", aka Brenno. He has been making all kinds of cool custom swords for quite a while now, and has taken a number of member-designed submissions.
I am not sure what previous sword design competition you are talking about, but there doesn't seem to be another one on the calendar anytime soon.

Whilst the entire sword is function first, it probably falls into the fantasy catagory. I'll try to come up with some size-relative statistics, but length will be give-or-take 39" overall. One-handed but with enough handle (if used in a pommel grip) for two hands. I'd just post the sketch, but; A, I hath not scanned it yet, B, I'm still not sure I should post it yet, just in case.

Orimus: you should really stop trying to use king james english mate, it just doesn't sound right. You don't need to be gimmicky to stand out on this forum.

Sorry mate, I just got done reading A Clockwork Orange, and the nadsat got a malennky bit stuck in my gulliver.
Anywhere. I got the rough proportional dimensions for the sword. I had to make it a bit longer in order to get the handle length where I wanted, and keeping the sword in the correct ratio with the rest of the sword:
41.5" overall 33.5" blade 7.25" hilt
Sorry, no metric yet. I have other design dimensions, but omitted them.

I'm sorry, I must have placed this in the "Please Critique The Way I Write" section of SBG forum. Seeing as how I only have one related reply. And it isn't a gimmick, I type the same way I speak in real life.

And it isn't a gimmick, I type the same way I speak in real life. This is a good point to make, 0rimus. We at SBG are known for being friendly and welcoming, and the majority of replies in this thread seem to indicate that we are otherwise. Is it that important how he writes? It's correct English, there's no fault in his mannerisms. I think perhaps some members here are being too superficial.

Speaking strictly for myself, when I get to picking at others, it's usually because I like to feel superior to them.
I feel your pain, 0rimus, them folks in Wisconsin said I talked funny.

Excuse me for trying to help you not sound pretentious. I wasn't picking on you at all, I felt like you were trying to be superior in your speech and so I thought I would give you some friendly advice. Any way good luck with your project.

One thinks that one ought "Hath" and "whilst" from time to time.
Actually there aresome exceedingly talented literary fellows frequenting the hallowed halls of this abode.
One looks forward to seeing your designs. One vows not to usurp it.

Naw, I acctually have an inferiority complex. When I wrote this it was around one o'clock, and I was jaked up on caffine. But, anyway (double post), I'm not very (at all) computer saavy, and I drew the sword in a little 5" by 3" notebook. How difficult would it be to crop it or something so it'd look better when it's posted?

Well, here ya go. Somehow my enthusiasm has ebbed in the past couple days. Still a good sword though.

Going for the quad-post. I noticed that the overall measurement is a little off... as it is, the crossguard would have to be 2-3 inches long. The actual overall length is just around 42" long. I have other designs if anyone is interested, and a theoretical/working peen/pommel process. Any comments/ideas appreciated.
