Hi Folks,
In the spirit of transparency and valuing my customers, I sent the following email out to everyone who's ordered Printed Armoury parts from me so for. Posting here to spread the word.
Product descriptions have been updated to reflect this information: "Steel Composition: currently available pieces may contain stainless alloy, which can inhibit certain bluing/antiquing applications."
If anyone has any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch, or ask here.
Thanks!

Hi,
Reagh Greenleaf Jr., owner of RambleTree here.
You recently ordered some Printed Armoury parts, and I’m following up about potential mis-labeling of the steel type as listed on my online store.
Jesse Belsky, a respected armorer/cutler, and regular customer, got in touch about the steel type (https://jesse-belsky-stageswords.squarespace.com/). He noticed that some pieces appear to be stainless steel, or a partial stainless alloy.
This affects the piece’s ability to take certain bluing or antiquing applications.
As you likely know, the availability of Printed Armoury parts has been limited - while designer, Mike Jia, hunts for a foundry that can deliver quality and value. Minimum quantities are in the hundreds (per design), with a six month+ lead time.
I’m currently in possession of all the available stock, and am selling it on Mike’s behalf.
After communicating with Mike, we determined that the remaining stock must be a mixture of parts from various production runs, that the foundry discovered and sent to us.
Some of the previous production runs were in stainless, some in mild steel, and some appear to be an unknown steel alloy, containing at least some stainless characteristics.
This seems to be the case with many of the Unpolished parts.
I’m writing to inform you of this because the parts were listed as mild steel - based on the information we had at the time.
Unfortunately, there are too many guard and pommel options to know for sure which items may contain stainless content.
Hopefully this does not affect your satisfaction with your order.
If you are having trouble customizing the finish of your items, or have any questions, please get in touch. I’ll work with you to make it right: artist@rambletree.net
I am updating the product descriptions to reflect the corrected information, and I apologize for any confusion.
Mike is fully aware of the situation, and we are working to make sure we have clear information on the steel type for future batches.
Thanks for your business and understanding.
Sincerely,
Reagh Greenleaf Jr.
