If you don’t have to buy a new car right now don’t . I was in the car business since 1985 and have never seen anything like this. Supply is so short that dealers who usually would keep 200 new cars in stock, have 3. My mother in law totaled her car and was forced to buy a new one, even friends of mine still in the business (general managers) could barely help me on price, but they were at least able to help me get her the car she wanted. Most dealers are asking $3000-$5000 over MSRP and getting it.
I’m in the North East, so I don’t know if it’s this bad everywhere…but drive safe, and change your oil…lol.

Everything's running late shipping wise so Aussie car stocks are running low for imports too.

I last bought a new car, a Dodge Colt, in 1975. Everything since has been used, and bought for cash, from owners. I've saved a ton of money that way.

So it seems to be a world wide problem.

In France, it's more like 6 months to 1 year wait. It's the semi-conductors thing...

CPUs, GPUs, and microprocessors are all more expensive and/or hard to get. Some auto manufacturers had to redesign their consoles to due to component shortages.

I know this thread is from a couple of years ago, but your advice on car shopping still holds true. It's essential to consider the market situation before making such a significant purchase. Limited supply and high demand can make buying a new car a challenging task. For those looking to transport a car to another state, you can check out this guide on BANNED FOR SPAMMING Even though the thread is older, their expertise in car transport remains reliable.
As always, driving safely and keeping up with regular maintenance are essential for any car owner. I hope everyone in the forum has had positive car shopping experiences, whether it was then or in the present.

I was just wondering how you fared in that challenging environment. It's great to hear you were able to help your mother-in-law find the car she wanted, even if the prices were a bit higher than usual.I recently stumbled upon a car that's in mint condition, and the price seems pretty reasonable. Now, I'm thinking about car shipping options, and I have one in mind. I've been checking out ShipVehicles, and they seem to offer some good services. Here's the link if you want to take a look: BANNED FOR SPAMMING

It's usually a bad sign for a forum when these advert things start happening. I have seen a few fall and this happened to each and every one...

Honestly, stuff like this happens everywhere now thanks to AI bots. They are getting more "intelligent". See a bot, report a bot. Might just need a good IP banning.
