Apparently restaurants and bars that serve alcohol in my State are having a hard time finding job applicants. Given the low wages and the risk associated with the ongoing pandemic, I understand that.
So, our State Legislature is trying to pass a bill to lower the age requirement for servers to 18.
I don't know what confounds me more, that we consider the ability to imbibe in public that essential or that the solution is to lower the age rather than making those jobs safer and better paid.
To disclose personal bias, I don't drink. Just not my style. I no problem with those that do, but this just feels bizarre.
