Anyone know where to pick up a cheap replacement sheath for a Deepeeka Kukri? Keyword being *cheap*.
I'll wrap this one in black duck tape before spending real money on it. The whole setup cost $25 to begin with. But I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

I hate to leave this Deepeeka kukri without a sheath. The split is on the spine side not the blade side. That's ok, I can wrap the whole thing with duck tape, and still be moderately safe. For $2.
This Deepeeka is an el cheapo - but it's actually kind of good. It's a sharp durable machete in a very cheap package. What does one expect for a $25 purchase? They got the blade and the grip right. It's only the sheath that sucks.
One needs a sheath. If someone knows of a $10 or $15 sheath that might fit, I'd consider it.

The one on top is an 11 inch Balanced Khukuri from Purna's company in Nepal. ~$100 on sale The one on bottom is an 11 inch Gurkha Khukuri from Deepeeka. ~$15 on clearance KoA One cannot see that the one on bottom (black) has a split in the sheath on the spine side. But one can see a little white on the bottom right just above the brass chape - that's the split. It won't hold that blade secure anymore. Duck tape will fix that problem for $7, but that's a last resort. I like them both. The Deepeeka is under-rated though. The Deepeeka is a bad-ass functional machete/kitchen knife on the cheap. Which is why I'm trying to find a cheap replacement sheath. I don't want to get rid of it. If one wants to go chopping through the woods, or clear some shrubs at the side of the house, or chop some chicken bones in the kitchen - the Deepeeka blade is wicked sharp. It keeps the edge and has weight in the right places. Its only downfall is the crappy sheath.

A beautiful leather case, do I like the fittings, a retro look, or is this really retro?

If you dont need a classic leather sheath you can buy one of the Cold Steel Kukri Machetes with sheath of a matching size. They're not expensive and you get a relative good kukri too! I bought my CS Royal Kukri Machete to get a sheat for my Bhojpure. It's important to find the right size.
