"I ain't much of a joiner but if The Lodge can put down a monster or two, I ain't got no truck with 'em. Hope they don't go and git all political. Where'd you say the treasure was? I reckon Betsy and I can dispatch a few big rats if needs be."

The lodge inspires me to bust out my lute and write songs of their deeds and adventures, at least what's known to the general populace

Well Murf' , I must say that the initiation is not easy and you will be required to engage in rituals and ceremonies that are not for the faint of heart . Examples include: You will be required to ingest compounds that may or may not be deadly to your personal biology. You will be required to personally field dress a beast while it is still alive, etc... That sounds like a real good time and all, but, like I said, I ain't much of joiner. About that treasure ...

I would personally love to take a table close to you as you play, all your drinks being on me, while I eat my fried rabbit stew with my personal dining set! Toss a coin to your lodge master is my most popular hit!

Lamb and mutton to go with a good bottle fermented beer (or three) and maybe a lass to listen to my tall tails. I would surely go in with a group if it was needed to rid the joint of any evil that spoils the land and its people...call it civic duty and all rather than just adventure.

There is certainly a few lasses in there. Some more a bit portly or homely but they are salt of the earth. Hey, the human body needs "salt". Just not TOO salty.

Lamb and black beer. Hmmm, I wish Howler hadn’t brought that up. As for the lasses, Alberta Hunter has the answer to that. She made a comeback a few back. She’s quite a character.

[Wanders down the street well past sundown, hears the music, turns toward the tavern] [Enters the rugged door, takes in the small groups in earnest conversation] [Finds the bar, calls a pint, and turns his gaze at the dusky lass belting it out on the raised planks in the far corner] [Smiles, just a wicked child in sincere appreciation of those more skilled in mischief] [Waits until the song is finished and the applause dies down, and hollers:]
"Lads, I tell thee straight: I sure as hell ain't from here, and I'm equally sure I crashed a closed session; but anywhere that I can catch discussions of exotic minstrel lassies, the finer points of properly spicing mutton, the lure of easy gilt, the machinations of secret societies, the philosophical ramifications of the acknowledged presence of evil, and all this over a pint (or three) of best bitter-- well, lads, this, THIS, I could call home. Your health!"
