Had an earthquake this afternoon. I was setting at my desk and thought Odie had bumped my chair. When I looked down there was no dog and then realized what was happening. It was a 6.5 jobby and felt throughout the entire country but found out it was just south of the Panama border. No deaths reported yet, lot of items off of shelves, some broken. Houses lost roofs and others rode down the clifts with the slides.

Glad you are ok...I live in So Calif whee they are fairly commonplace. I didn't know they were a thing in Panama.

Glad you are okay. That sounds like a terrible ordeal for some of the folks down there.

Yikes, that sounds bad. 6.5 is pretty big.
We had a 4 or so a few years back. Where I am, earthquakes are incredibly rare, so a lot of people were very confused. Not a lot of damage, though; rather, it became a joke.
Honestly, it woke me up from a nap and I thought it was a particularly noisy train on the nearby tracks until it got just a bit stronger. Got me out of bed, anyway.
Glad you're not hurt. Hopefully nothing valuable was among the broken.

Glad to hear you are okay. I've never witnessed an earth quake, they seem terrifying. Than again, I find the ocean terrifying too

I'm glad you're ok. I experienced earthquake once when I was visiting my relatives in Taiwan. I was sleeping on the floor and felt like the floor was bumping me into my back. I heard my cousin screaming and I was totally no idea what was happening since there's no earthquake in Hong Kong (touch wood).
Glad you're safe!

Happy you're all right. Geologically interesting place, Costa Rica. You guys have some restless volcanoes, too.

Glad you are ok...I live in So Calif whee they are fairly commonplace. I didn't know they were a thing in Panama. This whole region is subject to quakes. Here in Costa Rica we have 7,000 tremors a year. Most go unfelt. A few years ago one hit a few km up the road from me that that measured 7.x that had several fatalities. I’m missing the globe to my office overhead light. It let go during a quake landing inches from my head. There’s more but what the heck. And then there are the volcanos. We had one to let go a week or so back. I live at the base of one that has been dormant for years. I hope it remains that way. Life here is never dull. 😁

I live at the beach on a peninsula sitting on sand that would liquify in the event of a major earthquake. I have mitigated that risk by having another residence that is not subject to this issue in the region. I also carry government sponsored earthquake and flood insurance.

I have lived my entire life in this manner, seeking adventure rather than settling down and getting rich. I cannot imagine living in a quiet residential retirement area, I’d die for sure. I find every day an adventure, not as great as I’ve seen in the past but enough to keep my interest. I wish I was 20 again, those were the days!

I still feel 25 most of the time. Until I hang out with actual 25 year olds. Nope. I’m old.
