I know this is Purna Appreciation Society but I first want to thank The Levin Lance, the one who first showed us the works of GGK. Without him, I would never have found out about Purna Darnal. While I'd have been monetarily richer, I would have missed so much.
I've been thinking hard on a design for a possible custom, something like a waki-bowie with about a 16" blade and rosewood kukri grip, but my drawing skills suck and haven't come with anything that seems right yet. Someday.

Here are some of mine I've had Purna make me, most I have sold to other forum members, not because of his work, his work is great, I sold them to fund other projects. I recommend Purna for custom work at a great price.
**Mace is not his** **Purna's first attempt at a Gladius**
Our two fantasy pieces; the first one is based on a design from a polish maker which was very crude. Holger provided just the general outlines and the distal taper , Purna executed the rest on his own! Fantastic piece! The second one used Holgers now sold Zombie Tools Harvester prototype as a base. Holger changed tip and guard designand provided rough distal taper measurements; again, Purna worked out the rest by himself! Very cool piece as well, MINIMAL flaws on the hand made copper bolsters considering overall symmetry. MINIMAL! The blades on his works are outstanding with their super sharpness, the beautiful hollow grind and the wide bevels. Very straight and even!

It's here at last: Durinnsleif! I'll tell the story of this sword and the curse that lies upon it in another dedicated thread. I designed this sword based on historical viking type H swords, and had Purna make it. It is not, however, an exact historical copy. In particular, the northwestern Europeans liked to usually put bright colors on these sword hilts, like silver and copper/bronze. But I thought: hey, I am unusual. I like black. Had I lived at that time, I'd have asked the smith to make this kind of effect on my sword. So why not do that today, as well? It's about having a sword that I _would have had_, if I'd lived around 800 AD.
I can tell you that this is more historically correct, in terms of dimensions, etc., than 99% of swords out there. The only ones that come close to this level of accuracy are the ones made by people who really study the originals and do high end replicas - and honestly, I've seen $1200+ swords that are NOT as accurate to what viking-age swords were really like!
Note: the fuller effect was done by his engraver rather than by Purna, and it's a bit over the top. I will probably sand it a bit to get it to resembled the hilt and guard more. I also may shave down the guard just a bit, I think it came out just a tad thick compared to the lower guard/hilt.
All in all I REALLY recommend Purna. He's very good, he's extremely fast by swordsmith standards (this sword was delayed by a month for reasons out of his control, that I will explain elsewhere). Just make sure to send really detailed plans if you want something really specific.
Veerdin: Anybody know anywhedre that has a reasonably priced smallsword (prefferably with scabbard) for sale? The CS one is sold out everywhere I can see except a massively overpriced one on ebay and not even the Depeeka ones seem to be available anywhere.
