Purna Appreciation Society

It's here at last: Durinnsleif! I'll tell the story of this sword and the curse that lies upon it in another dedicated thread. I designed this sword based on historical viking type H swords, and had Purna make it. It is not, however, an exact historical copy. In particular, the northwestern Europeans liked to usually put bright colors on these sword hilts, like silver and copper/bronze. But I thought: hey, I am unusual. I like black. Had I lived at that time, I'd have asked the smith to make this kind of effect on my sword. So why not do that today, as well? It's about having a sword that I _would have had_, if I'd lived around 800 AD.

I can tell you that this is more historically correct, in terms of dimensions, etc., than 99% of swords out there. The only ones that come close to this level of accuracy are the ones made by people who really study the originals and do high end replicas - and honestly, I've seen $1200+ swords that are NOT as accurate to what viking-age swords were really like!
