Hello my friends! Lately a lot of people asked me how to make a chape for a scabbard. In this video I'll uncover all the secrets of making a chape at your own workshop with a bunch of simple tools. The best material for beginning is either copper or brass. It should be 1,5 - 2 milimeters thick. But remember. Before you'll start to make your own chape, you need to put the metal in heat and then submerge it in water. Awesome thanks for sharing. I tried quite a few different methods to make a chape including basically what you were doing but without the right tools and equipment and could never get the section at the bottom at the U shape to bend Inward and would always fold. This is great stuff
