You might try windlass as well.
One thing they tend to get very right is heat treat. I've had dozens and they still make up most of my collection.
If there is any model you're especially interested in from them shoot me a message and I may have it and be willing to part with it.
Would be slightly used of course but well taken care of. Like you I generally use my stuff.
I've never bent a windlass. They are thinner 3/16 stock but tend to cut well.
Also a big fan of cold steel gladius machete. Your tip WILL bend just by existing but the blade won't, and it seems to take zombie tools levels of punishment.
It comes back to sharp in moments with the dreaded accusharp.. Mine was like 20 bucks on sale so I don't fret.

TM, get yourself a Cold Steel machete and be done with the hassle. Honestly, they are fantastic products. I've owned the bolo and gladius and am very happy with both of them

TM, get yourself a Cold Steel machete and be done with the hassle. yeah. fair point,. I need to quit buying swords for now. I have so many. I have some real winners. For example, who would have thought that the windlass 1840 nco sword was ,,,,, a real sword. Man. that thing is a respect earner. Actually one time I left a bad review of a sokojikara t-10 katana,,, well, i hit a log and the blade chipped up. I emailed budk and showed them the video,, incidentally I actually filmed it,, it's on my youtube,,, they offered to replace it if I sent it back. I said no,, I wanted to keep it. Well,, the thing is,, I really really want to experience the metal, and "grow" with it. In the long run, I still use it, it's pretty good, it's my hot beater,, it's pretty potent but I can be careless with it's condition,,, if I had replaced it,, sure i would learn that replacement,, but I already met the first one,, I really want to keep it. actually, if scorpion didn't offer to let me keep the old one (unusual for product replacement that one can keep the bad one),, I may have even resisted. After all,,,, I WON'T be going to battle against vampires,, I just want the bar of steel. Yes,, my daywalker is all soft, but now I know I have an annealed piece of high carbon steel. Maybe I can cold-hammer a fuller into it,, and see what happens. Once i bent it on the bottle,, now I met the sword. However goofed it may be,,, I now have experienced that specific piece of metal, and feel that if I don't have it in the future, I will be lost. It's almost more important to me to have the one I had at first than to have a good one. (again, because swords just aren't real equipment for me, I don't need them at work, I will never defend myself with one, I can't see surviving the imaginable apocalypse that makes use of them in a real way,, I'm just in a city like everyone else, I don't have lots of money and an estate, if everyone else is going to die in a reset, there's no way I will need a shtf,, I'll just need to relax and make the most of whatever calamity) The real benefit that might come from this,, is I will have a good hard one, that resists bending and cuts like, and the soft one, that I can share to others to see the difference it makes,,, that I can try experiments with eventually,, I mean I could even grind it smaller and try to harden it myself one day. and really that's what it is,, I don't need a weapon. So a cold-steel machete will be a winner for lots of people,, but I'm like,, it needs to be functional,, but,, actually I want this weird thing,, that's not the right thing. (I mean,, honestly katanas are probably the real get one).

It’s a diverse hobby, and has many ways of enjoyment.

Too bad you didn't wait to buy an APOC "Broadsword". Reminds me a bit of the daywalker, and I bet it could handle the mighty strikes of Tmspace
