Hey guys. New user pineda said he knew that "Jude" was selling a Tomek Kowmal. He gave me the email judebrant5@gmail.com.
I inquired and "Jude" sent me a picture of a karabela that I knew had been sold on this forum and confirmed with the last forum member to buy it that he still had it in his own collection somewhere outside of the USA. Well, "Jude" said he had it in Mississippi. I won't detail what made me suspicious about his emails, but I could tell he was not an American from them (but he was claiming to live here).
Not sure how pineda would have known Jude outside of the forum but given they just joined this month and were already answering WTB threads with a scammers email, I would beware of pineda as well. Feel free to move this if it goes somewhere else, Mods.

Can we add a thread about being careful and image checking or a how to guide? So as to protect people from being scammed?

I don't think this is a bad idea but, for example, I specifically didn't include what about his emails tipped me off as to prevent him (or others) from knowing how to better phrase their emails in the future.
I also always check the forums/google image check (unless I already recognize the sword) before I complete a purchase. That kind of information would of course be valuable in a marketplace sticky. We do already kind of have one of these, but I don't think the original post can probably be edited outside of maybe another mod? Not sure what all they can do. Checking for things like if the item has already been sold to someone else on here, and image searching it would be valuable info to be put there though.

Especially how to do image searches and the best way to do it, lots of us here are not tech savvy, myself included, so would be a handy guide on how to.
