Hey! After I found the lodge dagger at the local waste collection company, there's another bingo now! After some investigation, I found out that this might be a nearly the same item as this:
Here are some of my pictures:
Not really my period but a stunning find nontheless.
I'd be happy to get more information about this one.

I think that in time you will find it to be a very modern decorative sword. You could join an post to the following venues to confirm, or disagree with my thoughts. I can't read Farsi but the etch and blade grind are not what one would find with a working sword. It is of the level of fancier decorative swords sold in Spain for the Toledo tourists. www.vikingsword.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=2www.facebook.com/groups/iascpostStill, a fun find. Cheers GC

IMHO, a vintage Indian wallhanger. Nice find, anyway.

Thanks for the answers! I didn't find the time for deeper research.
But what makes me confident is the fact, that the blade flexes exquisitely like I know it from heat treated blades. If that's a "regular" wallhanger, I ask myself, why the blade feels so right. Tang thickness is also very massive, around 8-9mm I guess. I don't want to try to defend its authenticity, because I know too less about counterfeits. But yes, it's a cool find. Maybe some day I'll know more

Functional or not, it's free. And a free sword is a good sword, even as decoration.
