Speaking of cooking....this evening's supper consisted of crock-pot beef roast, red-skinned potatoes, carrots and onion in brown beef gravy, and a heap of yeast rolls with plenty of butter. I had to skip the cake my wife made for fear of exploding. ........McM Man that's what I need. A wife who will make food for me. As much as I love cooking, I am a lazy man, and any time I put even 0.00000001% less effort the meal is barely worth the effort I want the energy and money to cook like that more.

Girlfriend and I did our favorite ribeyes with corn-on-the-cob on the grill, when a side of rice. Simple, but it's our "Good Times" meal.
Which reminds me, did I mention beer? Had a Lickinghole Creek cookies and cream stout with the meal. Twas nice. I've just boxed a few hundred old, empty bottles I've collected to represent the beers I've tried since turning 21 XX years ago.

Do you fry or grill Either way can yield the best steak, but I wanna know your method

"How is it possible that a forty-seven year old man has never cooked on a grill." It is very rare but possible. 😹😹😹😹

I wouldn't have made such an ignorant comment if I did, but at least the humour was noted haha I prefer grills, but I always try perfect my pan frying since it's all I got right now. One problem I always make is I don't use high enough heat. Feels hard to do with an element stove

I take it serious which is why I am going through chemotherapy. I just do not worry about it. My legal issue was of my own doing. I regret doing what I did and will never do it again. Stay good my friend. 😻

Eh, high heat is only important if you want to sear. If your oven isn't hot enough you can get torches. I bought a cheapy at a local grocer that did wonders filling the corn out where the grill flame wasn't high enough. Otherwise, low heat, cover. It'll keep its juices better that way. I didn't start grilling until a couple years ago and I'm 37. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm figuring it out as I go. Luckily I have gas grills, because charcoal would probably be beyond me...

Ah, the never ending debate. Gas or charcoal. Me, I prefer charcoal with mesquite or hickory wood chips. Of course, I would love to learn to actually smoke foods.

I prefer the taste of charcoal-grilled, but gas wins out on convenience and ease.
A cousin up in Pennsylvania runs a pretty successful smoker operation. I don't know the first thing about it, though.

My wife and I have discovered the joys of air-frying. Makes the best fried chicken ever. There's also hardly any mess to clean up. Just throw in your chicken, put the lid down, turn it on---then go have a beer and watch TV for a little while. It's so juicy and tender, you'll never fry chicken in a skillet again. --------McM

Men use charcoal. Period. The only thing that can be debated is Texas vs North Carolina style. Again, period.

Kansas style is so far in third place as to not factor into serious cooking discussions. Sorry, but sometimes the truth hurts.

If I am using the air fryer I can't run the microwave on the same circuit. I never had that problem with the toaster, toaster oven, and coffee pot all running at the same time.

Air fryers are power hungry. My mother had to get her kitchen rewired so she could run her air fryer and microwave at the same time, but the lights dim when it starts a new heat cycle. Makes okay food, though.

Hmmm....I don't have a bit of trouble with mine and I have a coffee pot plugged into the same socket. I guess I would have to have both of them going at the same time to notice anything. --------McM
