Just snagged this on eBay. The maker’s mark is WHHS, obviously WH Horstmann & Sons, but I’ve never seen one quite like this. It’s quite small & light, almost like it was made for a woman.

Humor me. I'm too lazy to look in Peterson. Euphemistically known by me as the 'pineapple pommel' (a dozen years or so ago), the guard is a leftover Widmann piece. Dmitry had a sword with a more significant use of the pommel www.sailorinsaddle.com/product.aspx?id=798What we don't have are old catalogs before the ACW but Horstmann already had buckets of parts and barrels of blades. Some of us regard these small scale swords as cadet items. Dmitry is pay for play now but may have some other thoughts. Cheers GC
