Hello, Has anyone reviewed this model? I don't see it on the traditional archery website anymore.
Have the museum collection sting and legacy arms halfling sword. I'm just a fan of this design.
I contacted the Smith and he replied quickly and let me know they can still make the sword but only do so at certain times in special runs.

I haven't owned this blade but owned a kopis of theirs. If you look at the review index there are other scorpion blades reviewed which give a pretty good overview of overall quality, etc. They make their blades from 3/16" thick steel w/o distal taper. This means the blades are very strong and great choppers, and there are lots of "extreme" durability tests on them. However, the stoutness makes them heavier. The hobbit sword has a 17" and weighs 2 lbs 5 oz. As an example, this leaf-bladed sword with a 19" blade is a 1 lb 7 oz. www.kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=AK001&name=Devil%27s+Edge+%2D+Greek+Xiphos+with+Wood+GripThe bone handled xiphos is even lighter, and is super fast and deadly--in a fantasy setting it's something a hobbit would be likely to use. It makes a big difference in handling if that is important to you. Scorpions are great choppers and built like tanks. I eventually sold my kopis because I didn't really care for that overbuilt style.

Thanks for this response.
I've also been eyeing the bone handled xiphos for a couple years.
Even handled one at Kult of Athena. Not sure why I haven't pulled the trigger yet, it's really nimble and I like this style (clearly, have the legacy arms halfling, mc sting.. Etc). Maybe that's it, maxing out on my little Greek /halfling leaf blades over here, haha.

I thought immediately that it was like Sting though I doubt elves would go for a bone handle Brother N's suggestion on having Purna do a Sting is a great one. I was amazed at his work on the elven saber: sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/63413/fantasy-elven-saber-another-again
