Newbie here. So I made a purchase with SnA on ebay. I ordered a Munetoshi wakizashi that was $20 more than the other thinking it had a silk ito also and received a Ryujin Wakizashi. I can literally build this thing in the SBG store right now. What's going on exactly? Do they use Ryujin to make them? Why (excuse my novice lingo that may hurt some experts ears) are the bottom of the sword and the bottom of the saya different? Why does it say Ryujin? And why does it say the ito is cotton on the paper document thing when they told me the reason it was $20 more was because it was silk. It feels like cotton to me too, I have a Musashi Wakizashi and a Dragon King Summer Lotus to compare and it feels like cotton baby. I also FEEL like I got ripped off. Thoughts? EDIT: I am also wondering if the hamon is real or acid-etched because it's advertised as a DH blade. If I should takes pics of the blade or not let me know. Not sure if you'll be able to tell from pics. Pics in link ibb.co/album/FLTB8n

Maybe they sent you wrong sword? Ask them.

I did 3 days ago and they sent a reply a day after saying to allow 24 hours for a response. So it's been more than 24 hours. I figured I'd ask around here to see if someone bought the same sword or have any info about the one I have.

That looks like the no hi Ryujin wak on their site and not the Munetoshi. As you mentioned the saya and kashira are differrent also Munetoshi do not have Ryujin written on the seppa.

Yea the koshirae and synthetic silk Ito are definitely Ryujin. Could be a few things to explain the situation,
1, normally SNA inspect the swords before shipments so perhaps your sword got mixed up with another sword. That would possibly explain why you got a Ryujin wakizashi but Munetoshi papers.
2, Being as both Ryujin and Munetoshi are Chinese distributors or name brands of Chinese made katana then perhaps they're now mutually made in the same forge/factory?
3, Or perhaps newer "Munetoshi" branded swords are now made by Ryujin? As in Munetoshi is no longer a brand of katana and Ryujin is taking over as SnA's house brand? Seems possible as many Munetoshi models are out of stock and have been for a couple years.

Thank you for the input. It may have been a mistake you're right. But the customer service sucks. Nobody wants to respond. I've contacted them through email and eBay. This is my last purchase from them, I tell you that much.
