Great projects to look forward I had a question : what's the difference between a kopis and a falcata ?

A kopis usually depicts an anthropomorphic image of a bird on the hilt and is found in Greece. A falcata depicts a horsehead and is found in Iberian Spain. Same thing, just a difference in animals and geography.

If we're gonna be nitpicky, not all kopoi depict animals. Some are more simple.

Half of my sword collection is so bad I'd call them fantasy pieces, lol. I've seen some truly excellently made semi-historically accurate swords here and on other sites and when I contacted the makers to ask if they will make me a more accurate sword...they say "no" as they don't want to be criticized online even if the customer asked for non-historically accurate materials and types of steel, like stainless. I have three stainless steel demo swords, nicely made and perfectly shaped, and they never need maintenance! All the rest need love and care...

The poll is locked, so I can't vote. I'd go with the spatha. Or better, I'd go with a kopis. He made a spectacular one for Lebleuchevalier, one I'm considering duplicating. But then maybe you've already got one. Here it is. You were in that thread too. KOPIS

KOPISI guess you didn't see where I chose to have him make me a Falcata :) should go check out the thread of the in progress pics :)
